Meaning

The New Oxford Dictionary defines meaning as: implied or explicit significance. Should read: mentally implied or explicit significance.

Significant is taken to mean: an increase in relative survival capacity (in any world/situation).

In other words, I attribute (hence invent) meaning (read: significance) to (for) any outcome (goal or aim, or situation) that promises to increase or actually increases my relative survival capacity. Outcomes or situations that do not promise or deliver a relative survival capacity increase are meaningless (i.e. not significant).

For instance, eating a banana is meaningful. Overeating with bananas is meaningless.
